Latham & Watkins is pleased to announce the Al-Mirsal blog, featuring timely insights and commentary on legal developments in the Middle East. The blog is produced in English and Arabic and provides useful analysis of developments for anyone with an interest in the Middle East. Al-Mirsal, meaning “the messenger” in Arabic, will be a new portal to highlight industry and legal developments relevant to Middle East clients and to others with an interest in the region.

Salman Al-Sudairi, partner and co-editor of Al-Mirsal said: “The pace of legal change throughout the Middle East is ever increasing, with this portal we hope to provide current commentary on important legal developments as they occur. The dual-language format, which we believe is a first for a law firm in the region, is responsive to what we have seen as an increased demand for legal services and advice in Arabic throughout the Middle East.”

Craig Nethercott, global co-chair of the Islamic Finance Practice Group, said: “We are always keen to utilise new technologies to communicate with our clients. We have now published many of our popular “Books of Jargon” as Apple Apps. Similarly, we have embraced the blog format for Al-Mirsal as an efficient way to quickly distribute commentary to clients concurrent with developments.”
